Evaluation System at Tamilnadu Council

The evaluation system at Tamilnadu Council has been designed to assess the learner’s overall knowledge, practical skills, competency, and application of concepts relevant to the programme of study. The assessment methodology may vary depending on the nature and objectives of the programme and is structured to ensure fairness, transparency, and academic standards.

Evaluation of Knowledge & Skills

Learners shall be assessed through one or more of the following evaluation methods, as prescribed for the respective programme:

• Written Examinations
• Assignments
• Practical Assessments
• Projects / Case Studies
• Viva-Voce
• Skill Demonstration
• Online Assessments

Certain skill-based programmes may also require candidates to possess relevant work experience or practical exposure, wherever specified in the programme regulations.

The evaluation process aims to measure the learner’s understanding of the subject, analytical ability, problem-solving skills, practical competence, communication skills, and professional application of knowledge. For programmes involving practical or professional competencies, assessment may be conducted by a panel of qualified academicians, subject experts, or industry professionals.

Examination & Assessment Procedure

The examination and assessment pattern shall be prescribed separately for each programme and may consist of one or more evaluation components, including written examinations, assignments, projects, practical examinations, viva-voce, or continuous assessment.

A learner shall be declared successful upon fulfilling the prescribed eligibility criteria and obtaining the minimum qualifying standards in the required assessment components. Upon successful completion of all evaluation requirements, the learner shall be awarded the appropriate Mark Statement/Grade Statement, Certificate, Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma,  qualifications applicable to the programme.
